Direct Support Worker (DSP)
Reports To: Program Supervisor
Job Summary
The Direct Support Worker (DSP) provides one-on-one support to children and adolescents receiving Autism Waiver services. The DSP assists participants in achieving goals outlined in their Individual Plan of Care by promoting independence, community participation, communication, and daily living skills while ensuring their health, safety, and well-being.
Essential Responsibilities
Provide direct support in the home and community.
Implement participant goals and support plans.
Assist with daily living, social, and communication skills.
Promote community inclusion and independence.
Complete accurate documentation and service notes.
Report incidents and maintain participant confidentiality.
Attend required trainings and staff meetings.
Follow all Kay Services Inc., MDH, MSDE, and Medicaid policies and procedures.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum age of 18 years.
Experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities preferred.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (if required).
Current CPR/First Aid certification.
Successful background check.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
